Celebrating National Cat Day

National Cat Day is coming up October 29th! Our feline friends are very cute and lovable pets. Fluffy certainly deserves to be pampered a bit on this special occasion. Read on as a Glendale, AZ vet offers some tips on how to get that little motor going.

A new plaything is a great way to brighten up your cat’s day. This will also help keep her active and entertained. Plus, you also get to enjoy watching Fluffy play with her new toy!

Even the most finicky feline usually has a few favorite snacks. Offer Fluffy a can of plain tuna or chicken in water. Plain, cooked, fish, meat, or poultry, without the skin, bones, or fat, is also fine.

If we know one thing about cats, it’s that they are very, very sleepy. Get Fluffy a comfy new bed to look adorable in. (Of course, your feline pal may ignore it and sleep on a pizza box instead, but that’s just purr for the course with kitties!)

Veterinary Care

We know, your furry buddy would probably scratch this one off the list—literally—if she could. However, Fluffy will both look and feel better with proper veterinary care. Book an appointment for your kitty!

We can’t make a list of Fluffy’s favorite things without including catnip. Get your furball a small plant to nibble on. Of course, not all kitties are affected by catnip. If your pet doesn’t seem to react to it, try offering her a honeysuckle toy instead. For some reason, many cats that don’t care for catnip do enjoy honeysuckle.

Want to really pamper your furry friend? Get her a cat tower. Fluffy will also appreciate pet ramps or stairs. A scratching post is also a purrfect gift.

Take a few minutes to play with your feline buddy. This is a fun way for your kitty to get a workout in! Use a toy that you control, like a laser pointer, to make playtime more fun and more challenging for Fluffy.

Many of our feline companions are little cuddlebugs that absolutely love to curl up on their humans’ laps. Spend some quality time with Fluffy, and just hang out with her.
